What We Believe
The Christian convictions beneath Pastures, and the boundaries that guide how we build technology for spiritual formation.
Historic faith, shared ground
Rooted, clear, and centred on Christ.
Pastures is rooted in the historic Christian faith expressed in the Apostles' and Nicene Creeds and in the Protestant conviction that Holy Scripture is the supreme authority for Christian faith and life. From this foundation, we seek to serve Christians across Protestant traditions by centring on the truths we hold in common.
Pastures is also open to anyone who wants to explore the Christian faith, engage with Scripture, or grow in the knowledge and love of Jesus Christ: whether you have followed him for many years, are returning to faith, or are simply curious.

The Triune God
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God created and sustains all things and is worthy of our worship, trust, and obedience.

Holy Scripture
We believe that the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are inspired by God, trustworthy, and the supreme and final authority for Christian faith and life. We seek to receive God’s Word with humility, in dependence on the Holy Spirit and in fellowship with the Church.

Humanity and Sin
We believe that every person is created in the image of God and possesses God-given dignity. Yet humanity is fallen, and all people are affected by sin and in need of reconciliation with God.

Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is truly God and truly human. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived without sin, gave himself on the cross for our sins, rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and will return in glory.

Salvation by Grace
We believe that salvation is God’s gift of grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ and not earned by human works. Through Christ, those who repent and believe are forgiven, reconciled to God, and given new life by the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit, who gives new life, dwells within believers, helps us understand God’s Word, and transforms and empowers us to become more like Christ and bear faithful witness to him.

The Church
We believe that the Church is the body of Christ, made up of all who belong to him. Christians are called to worship, grow, serve, and live in fellowship within a local church, united by the Spirit under the lordship of Jesus Christ.

Our Future Hope
We believe that Jesus Christ will return, the dead will be raised, and God will judge with perfect justice. We look forward to everlasting life with God and the renewal of all things in the new creation.

How this shapes Pastures
Pastures is a tool, not a spiritual authority.
Technology can serve discipleship by helping us remember, reflect, and pay attention. Genuine spiritual formation remains the work of God in the lives of his people.
Scripture first
Pastures is designed to help people return to and reflect upon God’s Word, never to place generated material alongside it as an equal authority.
Rooted in the Church
Pastures supports the everyday life of discipleship, but cannot replace Christian community, pastoral care, wise counsel, or participation in a local church.
AI remains a tool
Pastures and its AI-powered features possess no spiritual authority. They can help users remember, organise, and notice; they cannot speak for God or perform the work of the Holy Spirit.
Unity with humility
On matters where faithful Protestant Christians hold differing convictions, Pastures seeks not to prescribe a denominational position and encourages users to learn within their own church communities.
